poems

Heart and hips

Another heart-related one from 09.

X

Nothing but rude references.

Her lead

Kind of about power struggles in relationships, with a rude reference thrown in.

Chucky

Inspired by work, mainly the frustrations one can have with auditors.

Cycling to SWales

I rode from London to Cardiff in August 09, here's 2 short ones about the journey.

Haiku from August bank holiday 09

A few I wrote whilst home in Swansea this summer (recuperating after the above cycling!)

Island

Half Love

Two heart-related ones from summer 09.

Sony Ericsson X1i

The day I lost my most recent smart phone. Can't believe how emotional I got over a piece of stuff!

Catching up

About going on nights out and realising that one's early twenties are fixed in the past

Garden

Written at the end of a night out, chilling out the back of the flat after an evening at Jongleurs.

Debt

The title kind of gives away what this one's about.

Meself

About making myself feel lonely in London, being a whiney bastard.

Today

One I wrote for a poetry competition, never heard anything back so I take it my entry came to nothing! Ah well so be it, it's the only poetry competition I've entered. This one's me releasing a few frustrations about people wishing they were living in a different time, and other stuff.

Shifty Commute

About travelling to work across london, and generally about being stuck in traffic and shift jobs.

Bad Tech

One I wrote sometime in 2005, a brief one about getting pissed off when 'portable'
equipment is useless and needs to be constantly plugged in and charged once the batteries are a little old.

Purpose

Another one that's being sitting in a folder on my memory stick for a fair while.
It's about working for the sake of working, that sort of thing.

Utopian Pint

One I wrote a while ago but finally got around to putting on here, about politics i guess.

Londons Lockdown

Written on the bog 07 July 2005, whilst trying to find out what the bloody hell happened in central london that morning.

Move Fire

About temping and where I've been/where I am/where I want to be.

Dignified Retreat

A summary of my uni life in Bristol.

Lectured

My perspective on being in uni lectures.

Beers and Sports

This is about sports night at uni and the carnage that it involves.

Temporarily Unhappy

The wonderful world of temping and agency work.

Cindrz

The local dive (Cinderellas in Mumbles, now known as the Pier Nightclub).

Post Pub

I wrote this one in an English Lecture in A level college when everyone in the class was told to each write a poem.

Unknown

This one's a bit odd - I'm not too sure why I wrote it.

The Wind

Not a poem about flatulence

The ability to listen

A slightly pychedelic poem - take a peek

Mister Cloud

A poem which I hope can reach cult status.

Fickle Poems Section

Here are a selection of lust poems I wrote as a teenager, at the time it seemed like a good idea to get the obsessive feelings from crushes down on paper. Looking at them now, I realise just how much of an obsessed little twat I was as a teen (though I suppose people don't necessarily change all that much!). I would call them love poems, but that'd be a bit gay, and also a little over the top.

Carina

A girl I once knew briefly whilst in Oxford for my uni interview there.

Lady in Red (from Pont)

A girl I met in a local disco

Random Choice

One about indecision, as i fancied 2 girls at the same time. Thinking back, probably the most useless thing to fret about, seeing as I never did much about either fancyings.

Cath

A girl who lived very close to me

Cath²

Same girl, but an extention of the first poem.

Nicolette

About a girl, funnily enough. Equally as obsessive and over the top as the rest, though as with the other 'fickle poems', fairly sincere none the less.

One Way Street

One about a girl I fancied while in college
