In my reality
back garden normality
my place of calm
where I work without distraction
where now I eat
from instant reheat
yesterdays dinner veg
plus ham n cheese
it goes down with ease
relieving tension
the hic
cup
from my belly
telling me to get the hell to bed
(Get
to bed.
Get
to bed.)
but
best not waste the moment
orange
backlight diffused
behind the trees
soft, leafy silhouettes
they sway like my mind does
to
and fro
nowhere to go
the place that I showed my dad
sharing the quiet found
soft summer heat amongst wild green
unruly brambles
run amok in my lazy times.
enjoy your current growth,
till next I cut thee down!
the barbeque contains
two year old ash,
sealed with a moss.
A sign of social idleness
in the back corner,
the strimmer perches.
power lead, tangled
strimming wire - a birds nest.
me, the fool
I ran it with no cap on
obvious what would happen
what was once handy
has been made useless
she sits in neglect
waiting to be maintained
here reminds me of back home
the natural ease that within me has grown
in East London, a tranquility
roads simulate the sound of sea
squash gives me solace
diluted orange
soluted
provides peace
soon to bed
rest sleepy head
eat this
then sleep, pissed
